The Ubehebe Crater Death Valley is a large volcanic crater that is 600 feet deep and half a mile across. Geologists theorize that rising magma touched groundwater and the intense heat created a giant explosion. Before reaching the crater, we took a restroom braek and explored the area. The air felt cool and refreshing here.
Dylan was eager to lead the way to the top of the crater. The Ubehebe and Little Hebe Crater trail is a 2.2 mile heavily trafficked loop trail. It is primarily used for hiking, walking and nature trips and it’s best to go during October until April. We marched forward excited to see what is next. There are several smaller craters along the trail, the most notable one being the little hebe crater. There were some older children that couldn’t handle this hike, but Dylan did it all with a big smile on his face. I’m really proud of you son for making it all the way through. And if you have any energy left, you can go down to the bottom. After completing the trail, we discover our little prince getting a back massage by mommy.
