During our road trip to Yellowstone, the first stop was Red Rock Canyon State Park featuring scenic desert cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations. This is a 27,000-acre park that is located along state highway 14 Kern County and is known for their iconic sedimentary red rock.
It was a short stop, no more than 1 hour, but it was a good break to just walk around and stretch. The rock formations were also amazing, as they looked like columns of a castle. I would recommend making a pit stop here if you are ever in the area.
