Next up will be to visit one of the water falls from a place coined the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Although not quite as popular as the Lower Falls, the Upper Falls certainly merits a visit. The 110ft waterfall holds its own in terms of scenic allure, and sheer power. From the nearest parking area, you will walk a mere 450ft to the lookout. Most people don’t linger here for too long after some quick photo ops.
Now it’s time to go see some wildlife at Hayden Valley. The typically lush green valley is best known for its habitation of bears, herds of bison, elk, deer and moose. The wildlife viewing is best at dawn or dusk on this 7-mile stretch of road. The day we went we were able to catch some grazing bison.
