In today’s exciting Kim’s Adventure, we embark on a journey to Bearizona Drive-Thru Wildlife Park. This unique park was brought to life by Sean and Dennis Casey, who originally assisted their family business at Bear Country USA in South Dakota. In August 2009, they acquired 160 acres in Arizona and commenced the development of Bearizona. The park officially opened its doors in May 2010, marking a resounding success under Sean Casey’s leadership. Nestled in Williams, the park offers visitors a three-mile drive-thru experience through a beautiful ponderosa pine forest, where they can observe North American animals in their natural habitat. Additionally, guests can explore Fort Bearizona, a 20-acre walk-thru area that resembles a traditional zoo.
Upon arrival, visitors head to the ticket booths to purchase their admission, either on the spot or conveniently in advance through the website, all from the comfort of their vehicles. The adventure unfolds with two options: the walk-through area on the left and the drive-thru experience on the right.
Later, the group meets up with friends from Look Who’s Blogging, despite the wet and drizzly weather. Seeking shelter from the rain, some members explore the Warpath Designs Store, while others purchase umbrellas for everyone. Fort Bearizona offers winding walkways, allowing visitors to get up close to various animals while enjoying a leisurely stroll. In the midst of the exploration, the Big Bear Gift Shop captivates with its fun and detailed interior.
Afterward, the group purchases ponchos to stay dry and enjoys hot cocoa to warm up. Mr. Norm, their Bearizona Guide, announces an animal show at the Big Bear Gift Shop, which is followed by quick photo opportunities. The interior design of the shop reminds them of the ambiance found in a Bass Pro Shop.
Excitement builds as they attend the thrilling animal show. Mr. Norm then takes them to feed the grizzly bears, creating lasting memories. Before lunch, they explore the rest of the park and eventually head to the Canyonland Restaurant. The restaurant’s impressive 6000 square feet area features canyon walls and ancient ruins, immersing diners in the spirit of the southwest. The menu offers a variety of lunch options, including gourmet burgers, hot and cold sandwiches, and fresh salads. Upstairs, a full bar serves local craft and domestic beers, along with specialty cocktails, setting the perfect ambiance for a delightful dinner.
In conclusion, Bearizona provided an unforgettable experience, and Kim’s group had a fantastic time exploring the park and all it had to offer.
