Staying at Beatty Nevada

Beatty Nevada

During our adventures through Death Valley, we stayed at the nearby town of Beatty Nevada. Beatty is an unincorporated town along the Amargosa River in Nye County. The town was named after Montillus Murray Beatty who settled on a ranch in the Oasis Valley in 1896 and became the first Postmaster. Based on a 2000 census, Beaty has a population of 1154 people which is a population density of 6.6 people per square mile.

We stayed at the Death Valley Inn, which is a motel and RV Park. It has 60 rooms and 39 park through spaces for RV’s. There is also a pool, barbecue area and laundry room on site. Currently there are covid restrictions and the dining area was closed.

It didn’t take long for us to discover the wild donkeys foraging through the garbage. I thought it would be fun to feed them some bananas.

If you need to fill up on gas, a perfect place to stop would be Eddie’s World. Next-door to the Stagecoach Hotel & Casino, Eddie’s world is a giant nut and candy store that also serves handmade ice cream. There’s also a Subway and a Jerky Restaurant Need to burn off the remainder of your children’s energy? Then head over to Cottonwood Park We had a picnic under constant attack by bees.

After a long day of hiking, we were looking for a good bite to eat. So, we stopped by Smoking’ J’s Barbecue.
