First Time At Soak City Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott's Soak City, The Wedge

In Today’s Kim’s Adventure we head out to Soak City Knott’s Berry Farm. Knott’s Soak City is a seasonal water park owned and operated by Cedar Fair. It first opened in Buena Park on June 17th, 2000, under the name of Soak City U.S.A.

The first ride we went on was the wedge. The Wedge is an open-air family raft ride that can fit up to 6 people at a time. Navigate the twists, turns and unexpected drops as you go down this super long water slide.

It was now time to check into our private cabana. Cabana’s can be reserved online prior to arrival which provides much needed shade from the summer sun. There are 3 cabana locations to choose from, malibu, wavepool and shore break each fits a maximum of 10 guests.

Next Up was the aqua launch at shore break, this is soak cities most thrilling ride. I went inside an ominous chamber and had no idea what to expect. Then I got dropped and immediately had the sensation of being water boarded. My first reaction was to hold my breath until the coast was clear. After about 10 seconds it felt safe to breath, and then I was home free.

Next, we ate some tasty morsels at one of their two restaurants called the Longboard’s Grill. This baby is the fried fish and onion rings. Makes me drool just looking at it.

After going on some exciting slides, we just relaxed at the sunset river. On this classic lazy river, you can nestle down into a colorful cushy inner tube and just lie back. You’ll meander down the 1780-foot-long waterway to a destination of pure relaxation.

Nearby is the 43ft high Laguna Storm Watch Tower. You can ride alone or with a friend with an inflatable raft that helps you steer through the stormy waters. There are three enclosed tube slides to choose from that will engulf you in complete darkness. I didn’t get a chance to ride on this, but it must be a wild experience.

And if you’re looking for an area for the smallest thrill seekers go check out the Gremmie Lagoon. There are scaled down versions of some of Soak City’s most popular rides. Kids can also jump and splash around with the interactive octopus or climb aboard a miniature submarine. There are also oversized landmarks and animals that will squirt, sprinkle, soak and splash kids and parents too!

Then check out the fun house which offers three stories of hands-on water fun, including interactive water guns, nozzles, faucets and other surprises. But watch out because every five minutes the water bucket unloads 500 gallons of water on everyone below. Finally, there is the Tidal Wave Bay, and 750,000-gallon state of the art wave pool.

That was pretty much our day here at Knott’s Soak City. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to do everything. If we come again, we’ll have to go on the Banzai Falls, where you can race against your friends on this thrilling water slide. Or the Malibu run, an inflatable tube slide with 4 thrilling options to choose from. Lastly Old Man Falls, the ultimate gravity-defying experience at this 63-foot-tall body slide.
